Invigo Joins ITU Panel to Discuss the Fight Against Illegal Devices

Counterfeit devices are a growing threat to consumers, regulators and stakeholders along the value chain. Often poorly built, they pose health and safety risks to consumers and are a security risk for law enforcement.
Counterfeits rob state treasuries of billions in revenue each year. They also do uncalculated brand damage to both handset manufacturers and network operators by offering low quality of service to unsuspecting end users. The ITU is drafting recommendations on how operators and regulators can best fight counterfeits and invited Invigo to speak at a workshop held in June in Geneva titled, “Combating counterfeit using confromance and interoperablity solutions.”
This is a battle Invigo knows well. We kick counterfeits off operator networks seamlessly, sure not to create more problems for clients, or end users, than we solve. Invigo’s Control Illegal Devices (CID) solution enables operators to proactively and automatically block duplicate IMEI’s without penalizing the legitimate user and integrates an equipment identity register (EIR) system, allowing only authorized devices to register on the network.
